The Raptor Bird Of Prey Great Western Shiraz 2022 is a premium expression of the renowned Grampians wine region, sourced from some of the oldest and most respected vineyards in Australia. Hand-selected fruit is carefully transported to the winery where it undergoes fermentation on skins to preserve the purity of the fruit flavors. The wine is aged for 12 months in new oak, which integrates seamlessly with the concentrated fruit, enhancing its depth and balance.
The 2022 vintage showcases a deep dark purple hue, hinting at the richness of the wine inside. Aromas of rich dark plum, fruitcake, and spicy fruit immediately fill the nose, while the palate follows with plush, rounded red and blue fruit flavors. Sweet plum fruit explodes initially, giving way to a savory mix of pepper, tannin, and oak, ensuring a long and satisfying finish. Rated 96 points & Gold Medal by Wine Showcase Magazine and 92 points by Sam Kim of Wine Orbit, this Shiraz is a wine that drinks well now, but with its intense structure and complexity, it will age beautifully over the next 10 years, developing even more intricate flavors.
This exceptional Shiraz pairs wonderfully with hearty meats like grilled steaks, slow-cooked lamb, or a rich, savory stew. It will also complement mature cheeses, such as cheddar or Gruyère, adding to its full-bodied character.

"Aromatic with plush cherry fruits and vanillin oak. Palate has wonderful fruit characters with some mint and clove notes, good depth and length."
92 Point Rated - Sam Kim Wine Orbit
"Sweetly ripe and fragrant, the inviting bouquet shows dark plum, raspberry, mixed spice, and hazelnut aromas. The palate offers excellent weight and supple mouthfeel, beautifully supported by fine-grained tannins, finishing silky and flavoursome. At its best: now to 2032. $30.00."
